Alfonso Ippolito

Alfonso Ippolito, architetto, PhD e Professore Associato di Disegno presso il Dipartimento di Storia, Disegno e Restauro dell’Architettura (DSDRA) della Facoltà di Architettura, “Sapienza” Università di Roma. Svolge attività di ricerca nell’ambito disciplinare ICAR 17-Disegno, nel campo delle nuove metodologie e tecniche di rilievo (3D laser scanner, short and long range, fotogrammetria digitale), modellazione e rappresentazione digitale.

Tra i principali oggetti di indagine si segnalano la Cupola di San Pietro, il modello ligneo di San Pietro di Antonio da Sangallo il Giovane, le tombe ipogee paleoromane di Crustumerium, il tempio di Claudio e arco di Giano, a Roma; il teatro e l’anfiteatro romani a Mérida, Spagna, il teatro El Khasneh (Tesoro) e tombe reali a Petra il e teatro a Jarash in Giordania. Dal 2012 fa parte del comitato scientifico del museo MAVNA (Museo Archeologico-Virtuale di Narce) a Mazzano Romano (Roma).

Le ricerche sviluppate vengono espresse attraverso monografie e numerosi articoli su riviste nazionali ed internazionali, nonché nella partecipazione a convegni e seminari con contributi scritti e orali.

Alfonso Ippolito, architect, PhD and Associate Professor of Design at the Department of History, Design and Architectural Restoration (DSDRA) of the Faculty of Architecture of the Sapienza University of Rome. He carries out research activities in the disciplinary field ICAR 17-Disegno, in the field of new methodologies and relief techniques (3D laser scanner, short and long range, digital photogrammetry), digital modeling and representation.

Among the main objects of study are Saint Peter’s Dome, the wooden model of Saint Peter’s by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger, the paleoroman underground tombs of Crustumerium, the temple of Claudius and the arch of Janus, in Rome; the Roman theater and amphitheater in Mérida, Spain, the El Khasneh (Treasury) theater and royal tombs in Petra il and the theater in Jarash in Jordan. Since 2012 he has been a member of the scientific committee of the MAVNA museum (Archaeological-Virtual Museum of Narce) in Mazzano Romano (Rome).

The research developed is expressed through monographs and numerous articles in national and international journals, as well as in the participation in conferences and seminars with written and oral contributions.
