Direttore di Dipartimento (1994-2002) e Preside della Facoltà di Economia (2002-2011); Presidente del Collegio dei Direttori di Dipartimento (1997-2002) e Consigliere di Amministrazione (1998-2002) alla Sapienza. Fondatore e direttore del Master in Economia e management del turismo (2000-2010), degli Annali del dipartimento (1995-2002). Si è occupato di arretratezza economica e squilibri produttivi, industria, rete urbana, turismo.
