Fabio D’Andreagiovanni has received his M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering (2006) and his Ph.D. in Operations Research at Sapienza Università di Roma (2010). In 2008 and 2009, he was a Research Scholar in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research of Columbia University in the City of New York, where he collaborated with Prof. Daniel Bienstock. He currently holds a Post-Doc position at Zuse-Institut Berlin (ZIB), where he collaborates with Prof. M. Grötschel. His research has been mainly focused on Network Design and Robust Optimization and their application to real-world problems, especially related to telecommunications. Several prizes have been awarded to his research work, such as the Accenture Prize 2006 for the Best Master Thesis in Industrial Engineering, the INFORMS Doctoral Dissertation Award 2010 for Operations Research in Telecommunications and the ESF-JSPS “Mathematics for Innovation” Excellence Award 2012, sponsored by the European Science Foundation and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
