Alice Balestrino obtained a Ph.D. in American literature from Sapienza Università di Roma, and she is currently research assistant and program coordinator at IFUSS, International Forum for US Studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. She is the author of essays on Jewish-American Holocaust literature, alternate histories, post-9/11 fiction, autofiction, and narrative strategies for the representation of memory in graphic novels. She taught American literature at the Università degli Studi di Milano, Università degli Studi di Parma, and Università degli Studi Roma Tre.
