Ludovica Monti was born in Rome (Italy). She obtained a Pharm.D. and a PhD from Sapienza University of Rome, where she was recognised by Sapienza as one of the best 400 graduates and awarded the “Premio Minerva alla Ricerca Scientifica” for academic excellence. She conducted half of her PhD training in the United States, at the University of Pennsylvania and University of California San Diego (UCSD). Following her PhD, Ludovica retuned to UCSD to continue her work on microtubule-targeting compounds as novel anti-parasitic agents. She is currently a Marie Curie Research Fellow at Imperial College London (UK) working on multi- omic approaches targeting DNA to fight human parasitic infections.
